Inspired by one of the most recognizable pieces of American currency, the Lincoln Penny Hat Pin reimagines Honest Abe the way we think he should’ve looked: wearing a proper 8-panel newsboy.

The American one-cent piece was first issued in 1793, beginning a remarkable 232-year run from 1793–2025. Lincoln joined the cent in 1909, becoming the first U.S. president depicted on a regular-issue American coin. His familiar profile remained on the penny through the end of circulating production in 2025. 

Finished in an aged copper tone with the classic “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “LIBERTY” inscriptions, our version blends more than two centuries of American history with a distinctly Rusted Hatter twist.
